Obituary for Rita Ann (Thompson) Foretich Rita Foretich, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2020, after several years with Alzheimer's disease. She is now reunited with her husband and life partner, Joe. Rita was born November 13, 1933, in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Saint Agnes High School. She married Joseph Longine Foretich in 1957, and together they built a home, raised a family, and nurtured a community of friends. They were members of Holy Family Catholic Church in Missouri City, Texas. Rita retired from Exxon after spending her full professional life there, working her way from the copy room to a paralegal position. She was committed to her family and community. She led her neighborhood civic club for many years, advocating for local services and protections for families and seniors. She was also the consummate host, always happy to bring people together under her roof for holidays, family celebrations, and gatherings of friends. No one ever left her house hungry. We will cherish our memories of her generosity, strength, love, and laughter. Rita is survived by her sisters, Lydia Chew and Regina Matlock, her daughters, Ann Brooks and Mary Foretich, her grandson, Adrian Brooks and his wife, Dalyce, her great granddaughter, Willow, and her loving nieces and nephews. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Tributes and words of condolence may be left for the family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., Rosenberg, Texas 77471.
