Bio

Betty Jane Kana passed away Sept. 20 at the age of 72. She was born to V.J. “Jiggs” and Elizabeth Kana in LaGrange on Nov. 27, 1946 . Betty was raised in Holman until 1956, when the family moved to Eagle Lake. Throughout her adult life, Betty was active with Catholic Daughters, and what is now the Parish of the Nativity Catholic Church in Eagle Lake. Betty is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Kana, her brother Phil Kana and his wife Elizabeth, and her nieces Amanda and Elissa Kana. She was preceded in death by her father V.J. “Jiggs” Kana. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 27 from 5 - 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Eagle Lake Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. at the Parish of the Nativity Catholic Church in Eagle Lake. A reception will be at Didner Hall in Eagle Lake immediately following the mass. Interment at the Holman Cemetery will be at 2 p.m. following the reception.
