Funeral services for Louise Kopecky, 95, of Blessing will be held 10:30 a. m. Thursday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John Tripp and the Rev. Henry Beseda officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, Blessing. Mrs. Kopecky was born July 10, 1892, in Nelsonville, Texas, to Charles and Frances Janca Schiller and died Jan. 5, 1988, at Bay Villa Nursing Home, Bay City. She was a long-time resident of Matagorda County and was a 15-year resident of Blessing prior to moving to Bay City two years ago. She was a member of the Lutheran church. Survivors include five stepdaughters, Elsie Williams of Collegeport, Martha Thompson and Mary Popek, both of El Maton, Alice Vacek of Blessing and Alvina Vavrecka of Sugar Land; a son, Alfred Kopecky of El Maton; a brother, Charlie Schiller of Houston; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Pallbearers include Emil Sliva, Alfred A. Kopecky, E. R. Vacek, Weldon Popek, Johnny Lee Thompson and Johnny Popek. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City.
