Bio

Kenneth Edward Prater, 67, was born to Jake and Edwinda Starkey Prater. He worked for B.J. Hughes before his retirement. When his children were young, he enjoyed coaching their T-ball teams. He was an avid fisherman and a member of Walston Springs Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Prater. He is survived by his daughter, Kendra Stanton (Keith); son, Ken Prater (Keisha); grandchildren, Justyn Prater, Emily Prater, Korbin Stanton and Kamden Stanton and other extended family; as well as by his longtime friend, James Earl Rodgers, whom he served with in the US Army. A memorial service with Military Honors to celebrate his life will be in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Bratz and Michael Moore officiating. Memorial and cremation services are in care of Rhone Funeral Home(Rhone Funeral Home 9/23/19)
