Richard T. Cummings, 61, 1520 G, supervisor of the motor fuels division in the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon. Mr. Cummings, who had been working in the State House since 1944, slumped to the floor in the office of Clay Wright, director of the agriculture department. Dr. E. A. Rogers, state health director, summoned when Mr. Cummings collapsed, attributed death to a heart ailment. Born and reared at Tobias, Neb., on May 19, 1891, had lived in Lincoln since 1932. Earlier he had lived in Wymore where, as a pharmacist, he had operated drug and clothing businesses since 1919. Surviving are his wife, Jessie; four brothers, Lon G. of Daykin, Neb.; Arlington at Tobias, Neb., Lester, Redwood City, Calif. and Lewis at Neotsu, Ore.; and two sisters, Mrs. Jaso Beggs, Lincoln and Mrs. Cora Wilson, San Diego.
