Louise "LouLou" Jones Birth Date: May 24, 1915 Death Date: May 3, 2016 Montie Louise "LouLou" Jones was born on May 24, 1915 to Roy A. Wherry and Elizabeth Wright Wherry in Josephine, Texas. After a wonderful fulfilling life she passed from us on May 3, 2016 in McKinney, Texas. Like so many areas of her life she excelled by achieving a long life of 100 years just 21 days short of 101. LouLou never met a challenge she couldn't solve. When she found herself a single mother with two children, she worked at Neiman Marcus by day and sewed for the public at night. At other times she worked for florist around Dallas and worked with Joe Lambert as he decorated for elaborate debutante parties. Her creative skills took her into the homes of many well-known families in the Dallas area. She worked with decorators throughout the city creating customize draperies and bedspreads as Louise Jones Interior became "the "one to use if you wanted it done right". For many years she also worked with Kathleen Freeman who catered society weddings throughout Dallas. She draped elegant wedding tables for these. Her hobbies were painting, playing games and traveling. Her many friends and family cherish having her art work gracing their homes. She was an active member of Highland Baptist Church, the Klepper Art Club, Zonca Business Women and Eastern Star. LouLou opened her home to all who passed her way as a gracious hostess that made her guests feel comfortable and welcome. During World War II she hosted many of the military and their friends in her home as they took leaves from their otherwise precarious lives serving in the military. Her collective names told the story of her exciting life. Born Montie Louise Wherry, she first married Herman G. Mullins, the father of her two children. Her 2nd husband was Rees W. Jones and she welcomed his 3 children into her world. Her 3rd husband, Jake Blankenship, was a fun traveling companion for her as they enjoyed many trips together. Jake's daughter became a part of the assembled children through that marriage. Technically her name became Montie Louise Wherry Mullins Jones Blankenship. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, two sisters and their husbands, and one son-in-law. Surviving Louise and remembering the loving, bossy, go-getter who leaves them with many memories are her daughter and son (and wife). Her extended family of (5 names omitted). The additional joys in her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Herman's children. Adding to the grandchildren and great grandchildren are two great great-grandchildren. What a full life of family and she loved every minute of it. The family invites you to join them in celebrating her life on Saturday, May 7 at 11:00 AM at the Highland Baptist Church at 8202 Boedeker, Dallas, TX 75225. In lieu of flowers you might consider a donation to the Eastern Star Retirement Home at 1501 West Division, Arlington, Tx 76012-3801 or a charity of you choice.
