Bio
Veda Fern Hilliard, of Mountain Home, ID passed away, Sept. 14, 2019. She was born in Fruitland, ID at home on June 30, 1944 to Jacob and Beulah Langley. Veda was the second oldest of seven children. Veda attended school in Payette, then Emmett, graduating from New Plymouth High School. She met the love of her life, Donald Ross Hilliard and they were married at the Church of the Nazarene in New Plymouth. Veda and Don had two children; the family spent many wonderful years together. Veda was an amazing and loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Lynnette, Seth, and Kelsea and great grandchildren, Marilyn, Stetson, and Garrett. Her great grandchildren were her “Little Sunshines” and she loved them dearly, spending many hours with them where you could often hear her singing “You Are My Sunshine” and telling them she loved their little bones. Veda enjoyed being with the family, cooking, crafts, watching westerns, bingo and doing puzzle books. She retired from many years of work in the packing sheds. Veda is survived by her son Craig Ross Hilliard; daughter Lori Anne Hilliard; sister LaDonna Rogers; brothers Gary Langley, Gifford Langley, and Clifford Langley; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Veda is preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Beulah Langley; husband Donald Hilliard, sister Melba Hughey; and brother Douglas Langley.
