Bio

Born to Chauncey and Orpha (Smith) Mitchell. Educated in Holdrege Public Schools, graduating in 1944. She then attended Western Union School in Crawfordsville, Ind., and worked for Western Union in Hastings and San Francisco, Calif. Married James Creech in Marysville, Kan. in 1944. After living in various places they moved to Grand Island in 1972. Worked at the Nebraska Veterans Home as a nursing assistant for 17 years, retiring in 1989. Member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survived by her husband, James; one son, Dr. James Creech of Estherville, Iowa; two daughter, Jackie Oliver and July (Mrs. Michael) Bonsall, both of Grand Island; grandchildren and one brother, Gene Mitchell of Ogallala. Preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a brother, and one granddaughter, Elizabeth.
