FAE'S OBITUARY Ruby Fae Wyatt, age 90, died in the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at her home after a brief illness with cancer. Fae was the eldest daughter of Bert & Agnes Ranton McLean, born on May 19, 1929, at Hulver, Hall County, Texas. Fae was a resident of Tell and Childress the majority of her life. Fae was married to Edwin Wyatt of Tell on March 25, 1949. Fae and Edwin were married for 46 years, when Edwin passed in 1995. Fae and Edwin raised their five children in Tell Texas on their family farm. Fae’s full-time job was making delicious meals and desserts for her family and friends, while helping Edwin with the everyday chores of farm and ranch life. Fae was a long -time member of Tell Southside Baptist Church where she was very active teaching the women’s & youth Sunday school as well as Vacation Bible School for many, many years. Fae was an avid reader, collector of dishes & antiques, great conversationalist, and professional coffee drinker. She also enjoyed watching any activity that she had a child, grandchild or great grandchild participating in. She was a die-hard Bobcat fan and had season tickets to the football games for 25 years. The only thing she cherished more than a good cup of black coffee was spending time with her family, which she truly adored. She also enjoyed playing Liverpool Rummy, a card game that was first played with dear family friends and later taught to her children and grandchildren. The joke among the grandchildren was to not sit to Mama Fae’s left because she would “buy” every card leaving none for the next person. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and surrogate grandmother to many Childress residents over the years. She enjoyed participating in several clubs and organizations throughout her lifetime including the Ophelia Club in Estelline, TX where she was a charter member. She also belonged to the Tell Home Demonstration Club and the Modern Home club in Childress. She enjoyed hosting for the club members immensely. Mama Fae also enjoyed hosting anyone who stopped by her home providing many meals and cups of coffee over the years to be enjoyed with her. Fae was predeceased by her parents, one sister Fern, husband Edwin, their oldest son, Tim Wyatt, and son in law, Dale Inman. Fae is survived by four children: Ranae Wyatt, Lileesa Inman, Cavin and Debbie Wyatt, Connie Wyatt, Aimee and Greg Bowman; 12 grandchildren: Taron & Kristy Wyatt, Whitney Wyatt, Felicia & Ben Sanford, Lachella Coley, Brandon and Amy Inman, Luke and Amy Inman; Cade and Jennifer Wyatt; Cale, Case Wyatt; Brant, Brennan, and Bryce Bowman; 21 great grandchildren: Lani & Collin Wyatt, Kenzie & Allie McGaha; Sage, Cooper, Layton & Ella Coley; Abby & Bo Inman; Lawson, Ava Kate & Jack Inman; Libby, Bentley, Caleb & Jared Sanford; Saylor, Olivia, Iris & Lily Wyatt; One sister, Nell Bradley of Lubbock, TX; Brother-in-law Franklin Wyatt and Doris of Carey, TX; Sister-in-law Margaret Wyatt of Childress; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as cousins. In addition to the family members, Fae is survived by everyone she came into contact with who had the pleasure of seeing her infectious and loving smile. Fae’s services will be held at the Tell Southside Baptist Church on Saturday, September 14 at 3:00 p.m. with graveside services immediately following at the Baptist cemetery in Tell, TX under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Johnson Funeral Home in Childress, TX.
