Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent August 1991 ARVADA, Colo. - Kathryn A. Bishop, 78, of Arvada, Colo., formerly of Grand Island, died Friday, Aug. 23, at a Denver, Colo., hospital. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Whelan will officiate. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at...Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home... Mrs. Bishop was born Nov. 24, 1912, at Humphrey to Joseph and Mary (Kukla) Sturek. She was baptized in the Catholic faith. She attended St. Anthony's Parochial Grade School in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Bartlett High School. She married Hubert Bishop on Feb. 16, 1931, at Scotia. She was employed by Montgomery Ward Fashion Co. for several years in Grand Island and then transferred to Montgomery Ward at Lakeside, Colo. She spent her retirement years living in Arvada, Colo. She is survived by one son, H. Eugene Bishop of Grand Island; six sisters, Rose Lyons of Walworth, Wis., Calra Lindgren and Peggy Reinking, both of Campbell, Julia Berney of Columbus, Josie Mercier of Omaha, and Eleanor Reick of Woodland, Wash.; two brothers, Henry and George Sturek, both of Bartlett, nine grandchildren.... She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961, a daughter, Donna, who died in 1964, and several brothers and sisters.
