THE DAILY TRIBUNE Wednesday, February 10, 1943 Matagorda County, Texas 3 Year Old Tot Has Head Crushed Under Maintainer. Falls From Machine Being Operated by Father, A. W. Hurta . Helen Louise Hurta, three year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hurta of Midfield, was instantly killed yesterday when she fell from a county-owned maintainer being operated by her father near their home and the wheels passed over her head. According to information received here the child desired to ride a short distance with her father and climbed into the machine with him. In some way she fell out and her absence was not noticed at once. Funeral arrangments are being held in abeyance until word can be received from her grandmother, Mrs. N. E. Hurta, of Gonzales, and an uncle Louis A. Hurta, now in the Army in California. She was the only child of her parents.
