Bio

AGLER, Katherine Heaven received a beautiful Angel on August 24, 2019. Katherine was born in Floyd, Texas on January 29, 1929 and was raised by her Aunt Mary Lou Cassel and Oscar B. Johnson (adoptive father). She lived in San Antonio, Texas until she moved to Dallas, Texas during her senior year in High School, where she graduated from Sunset. After High School, Katherine attended Secretarial School. She took pride in her shorthand and attention to detail. She worked at the Federal Reserve using her excellent secretarial skills. She met Granville Hagler and they married on November 27, 1952 and settled down in East Dallas. They had two daughters, Mary Martha and Brenda Kay. Katherine poured her heart and soul into being a wonderful Mother and homemaker. She stayed home raising the girls and supporting them in their school and church activities until they were in High School. Then, she returned to the workforce as a secretary at the World Book Encyclopedia followed by the Southland Corporation. Katherine was a very loving, giving, and selfless person, always putting others first. She was most happy when she was surrounded by her family and friends. Everyone who knew her loved her smile, bright blue eyes, and tender heart. Katherine's priorities were God, Family, Beauty Shop... in that order. She was a member of the Garland Road Church of Christ, then, the Highland Oaks Church of Christ, and later, the Saturn Road Church of Christ. Katherine loved reminiscing about the good ole days at Garland Road Church of Christ where her girls (Mary and Brenda) were active in the Youth Group led by Jim Hackney. The entire family was involved in Church activities. She enjoyed singing songs, especially if they were from the Youth Group days at Garland Road or some of the older hymns. She is survived by her loving daughters: Mary Mann and Brenda Villanueva; sons-in-law: Manny Villanueva and Angus Mann; nephew, Walter Johnson; half-brother, CW Herd; grandchildren: Katherine (Katie) Johnson (husband Johnny), Adam Pharaon, Sean Johnson (wife Virginia), James Pharaon (wife Kristi); great-grandchildren: Olivia Johnson (Sean's daughter), Charlotte Johnson (Katie's daughter), Kayci and Noble Pharaon (James' children). She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville Hagler; brother, Hiram B. Johnson ; aunt, Mary Lou Cassel; uncles, Thomas Cassel and Oscar B. Johnson. Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 11:00 at Restland's Memorial Chapel with Mr. Jim Hackney officiating. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park.
