Norma was born in David City, Nebraska to Neil and Lineah Johnson (Hillyer). She attended David City High School where she played the clarinet in the band. She also participated in choir, theater, was on the student council and cheered the David City Scouts to victory as a cheerleader. She married Norman B. Coufal in 1955 and moved with him to Houston, Texas. To this union a daughter Vicky Saladino (Coufal) and a son Robert Coufal, were born. She loved to read and played the piano. She loved the Lord and was grateful for all of the blessings that he provided her. She always believed that the Lord was in control and that he knew what he was doing and that all things done for him were for his glory and the greater good. Norma had a wonderful sense of humor and a laugh that was not easily forgotten. She was fiercely independent and when she spoke her mind you knew she meant what she said. However, she was also loving, generous and kind. She will be greatly missed and mourned. She leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves behind a brother, Michael Johnson and his wife Karen (Shorney). As well as her nieces Christine Carson, Tracey Strehle and Kendra Kripal.
