HELMS GILMER — Funeral services for Mrs. Goldie Helms, 73, of Gilmer, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Loyd Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Walnut Creek Cemetery . Mrs. Helms died Wednesday at a Gladewater nursing home after a lengthy illness. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lorene Castle of Diana, Mrs. Bonnie Blalack of Gilmer and Mrs. Victor Nell Dyer of Longview; one son. Melvin Helms of Gilmer; two brothers. Desmer Stanley of Ore City and Ernest Stanley of Hawkins; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Ambrose and Mrs. Ruby Owens, both of Pittsburg; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
