Bio

Joseph “Joe” H. Horak, Jr., 86, of Waco passed away Sunday August 4, 2019. A graveside service will be held 11am Saturday August 10, at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S 5th St, Waco, under the direction of Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Joe was born on June 10, 1933, in Schulenburg, Texas, to Joseph and Lillian Cernoch Horak. He attended school in Penelope. Joe married Evalyn Sanders Gibson in 1967. He was in the Marines for two years and worked at William Cameron Co. for several years. He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; two step-sons; stepdaughter; sisters, Henrietta Kalisek and Mary Freyer Courtade. Joe is survived by his sister, Evelyn Schroeder; brother, Ed Horak; special friend, Wilma Shilling, and several nieces and nephews.
