Barbara Jean (Barb) Slegl was called home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2017. She was born to Jess & Agnes Ethington of Nebraska City, NE on June 7, 1935. Barb spent the majority of her life as a wife, home maker and loving mother. Barb was also the owner of an Antique & Country Craft store called “Now & Then Antiques” of David City & Wahoo NE for many years. Barbara was a member of First United Methodist Church in Milan, TN. An avid gardener & mission worker she was a member of the Gibson County Garden Club & active in many charitable organizations such as Red Bird Missions, RIFA & the Carl Perkins Center to name a few. She was a caring & faithful Christian. It was not unusual for Barb to bring food to the sick, sit with people in need & serve others. Barb always put God first then family & friends. She never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her love of life. We know that she is in heaven surrounded by beautiful flowers, birds & God’s creations that were close to her heart. Barb was preceded in death by parents Jess & Agnes Ethington, siblings Bernard Ethington, Ray Ethington, Gene Ethington, Jack Ethington, Virgil Ethington, Dickie Ethington, Maxine Kohel, Wilma Eaton, Betty Ethington, Margaret Ethington & Kate Lucas, Son in law Richard Kayl of Omaha NE , grand-children Christian & Justin Baker of Essex Junction, VT and great grand- child Jameson Henry Scott Bogue of Humboldt, TN Barb was blessed with 7 children, Debra (Richard) Kayl of Omaha, NE, Chuck Bogue (Janet) of Benkelmen, NE, Pam Shaw of Benkelmen, NE, Nancy Bogue of Jackson, TN, Kathie (Ken) Kretzer of Huntington, VT, John (Donna) Bogue of Trenton, TN & Mary (Hollis) Clenney of Milan, TN. She had 19 Grandchildren & many Great Grandchildren.
