Bio

Mearl was the first of three girls adopted by Henry Jay and Ethel Almira (Allbee) Sevy. Her birth parents are unknown. Following adoption, she was christened in Battle Creek, Michigan. Her sisters were to be; Lola Fern Sevy, tragically she died of pneumonia three months later, and the younger sister was Zelma Liethe Ursula Sevy. Mearle married Daniel T. Reefman June 1, 1911 in Charlotte, Michigan. He survives. Also surviving are ; daughter Donna (Reefman) Ricks; son William Maurice Reefman; sister Zelma (Levy) Woodard. She was preceded in death by the parents and sister Lola.
