Bio
Harburn (also sometimes spelled Harbon or Harbourn) Riley Fox was the son of Uel Daniel Fox and Delilah Wyatt. He married Elvira Grant March 21, 1866 in Cooke County, Texas. He was called into service by Sam Houston and the state of Texas to become a Texas Ranger on April 7, 1860, when only 18 years old. He served as a private until June 6, 1860 under commanding officer Lt. John Scanland in the organization called "Minute Men" (source: Armstrong Texas Ranger Researcher Center documentation). Harbon also served in Co. "G", Benavide's Regiment of Texas Calvary during the Civil War. Here is what I know about their 16 children; 1. Sue Anna Fox (1867-died young) 2. John Felix Fox (1866-1934 Married Arraby Allen) 3. Malinda Fox (1869- died between 1897-1900 Married Richard M. Kimbrell) 4. George Daniel Fox (1870-1954 Married Ollie B. Grant. Ollie (or Allie) Grant's first husband was Robert L. Jones. Ollie was the daughter of John Thomas Grant and Alsa Robertson. John Thomas Grant was Elvira Grant Fox's brother) 5. Delilah Paralee Fox (1872-1954 Married Josiah "Joe" Jackson Langford). 6. Sarah "Sally" Adline Fox (1873-1958 Married cousin, Harburn Riley Fox, son of Johannon Fox and Malinda Elizabeth Wolf). 7. Nathan Grant Fox (1875-1948 Married Virginia "Jennie" Frances Powell, daughter of William Nathan Powell and Annie Elizabeth Harvell Powell Middleton. Jennie Powell Fox had at least 1 sibling; Jacob L. Powell, 1880-1935, Married May Reynolds per his Death Certificate). Annie Elizabeth Powell remarried about 1886 to William Middleton and had at least 1 child; Willie Terrell Middleton who would have been a half sibling to Jennie Powell Fox. 8. Uel Daniel Fox (1877-Bet. 1908-1912) 9. Tilatha Fox (1878-1964 Married John Adam Love) 10. William Colsin Fox (1880-1964 Married Carrie Georgia McClanahan). 11. Harburn Riley, Jr. Fox (1886-1953 Married Mattie Melvina Burton). 15. Henry Leonard Fox (1888-1956 Married Donnie Garner) 16.
