Ralph Lamar Crall was born June 18, 1932 to Ralph and Lura (Shipley) Crall in Elk City, Oklahoma, and passed away on July 27, 2019 at his residence in Hinton, OK. Lamar was raised on a farm north of Weatherford, OK, and attended Weatherford Public Schools having reached the age of 87 years, 1 month and 9 days. Lamar was the high school band drum major for 4 years and graduated with the Class of 1950. He attended Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater, OK where he earned a B.S. in Animal Husbandry. Lamar married Jewrell Hunt on September 10, 1953, and together had two sons Edward and Les. After college he enlisted in the US Army, returning home to Weatherford. He attended the University of Arkansas for two years, earning a Master Degree in 1966. In the fall of 1966, Lamar started teaching accounting at Southwestern State College. During his time at the university, he served as one of the five founders of the SWOSU Foundation. After 30 years as an educator at SWOSU, he retired in 1996. On July 31, 1990, Lamar married Opal Hampton and they made their home in Hinton, OK. Lamar enjoyed farming, genealogy, working with cattle, and newborn baby calves. Lamar is survived by his wife, Opal Hampton-Crall of the home in Hinton, OK; two sons, Edward Crall and wife Debbie of Thomas, OK, and Les Crall and wife Laurie of Weatherford, OK; two step-daughters, Kaye Burlison and husband David of Yukon, OK, and Terry Jean Franz and husband Rick of Detroit, MI; step-son Dick Roy Hampton and wife Phyllis of Long Island, NY; sister, Janis Lovell of Weatherford, OK. Lamar was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Jim Lovell, and daughter-in-law Sherry Crall. Memorials may be made to the SWOSU Foundation. Source: Lockstone Funeral Home
