Bio

NORFOLK--Mrs. Laura Hodges Hill, 88, of 2443 Ambler Ave., died in a hospital Sunday at 9:35 a.m. She was the widow of Ernest E. Hill, Sr., and a daughter of John H. and Mrs. Lilly Foiles Hodges. A native of Portsmouth, she lived in Tidewater most of her life. She was a member of Coleman Place Presbyterian Church. She is survived by four sons, Ernest E. Hill, Jr., Herbert J. Hill, and John S. Hill of Norfolk, and Wallace H. Hill of Dillwyn; three daughters, Mrs. John W. Smith and Mrs. Lionel L. Murray of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. L.R. Maxwell of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park.
