When she was a small child, her and her family moved to Madill, Oklahoma where is attended public school. Later, the family moved back to Hopkins County, Texas, to the town of Como. Prue later went to stay at the home of her aunt Margie, wife of Dr. Guy Z. Minter, and attended Kid Key College in Denton, TX, for two years. Finishing there, she then went to East Texas State Teachers College (ETSTC) in Commerce, TX, where she graduated and received her degree in education. She then taught in the public school system in Sulphur Springs, TX. Prue later came to Houston around 1923 to work for Great Southern Life Insurance Company. Her uncle, E.P. "Pat" Greenwood, had organized Wichita Southern Life Insurance Company in Wichita Falls, TX, and he was the CEO. Subsequently, Wichita Southern was merged with Great Southern of Houston, and Greenwood, then became President and CEO of Great Southern. Prue, early on, worked in various departments with the insurance business, and gained a good overall knowledge of the business. With her mathematical talents, it was natural for her to end up as actuary, reinsurance, and, then, policy loan specialist. She retired from the company at age 60. The fact, however, that she retired, did not mean Prue had quit business. She plunged into real estate brokerage and investments. She actively followed the gyrations of the stock market in her later years. Her hobbies included duplicate bridge. She held the title of life master. - As remembered by Dennis J. "Jack" Robinson, 1999. For the last 9 years of her life, Prue lived at Brookdale Senior Living Apartments in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas. She never married.
