Still Living
Bula was born September 23, 1923, in rural Texas, near Waco. Her parents were migrant workers, making their way chopping cotton and pulling bolls. She was born in a small, rough shack beside a cotton field. She was so small her crib was a shoebox. Later on she graduated to a dresser drawer. This beginning started her on a sometimes rough road and she proved to have a toughness that showed through when needed. It also taught her to be content whatever the circumstances. She never complained about anything. Even during her last days at Hobart Living Center she would answer "I'm fine," or "it's okay" when anyone would ask her how she was. Her last words to everyone were, "I love you." Bula was the daughter of Dora Prock and Eddie Robart Chaney. She married Buford Randall and to this union were born son Robert and daughter Brenda. On June 19, 1967 she married Coe Copeland and became the stepmother to Virginia, Roma, and Lynn. They spent many happy years together until Coe passed away in 1986. Also preceding her in death were her parents, her son Robert Randall, brother Eddie Roy Chaney, and sister Girtrue Chaney Randall.
