The Cedar Rapids Gazette , June 2, 1972, p. 3, col. 5 Obituaries John R. Stava, 92, of 915 Twenty-fifth street SE, died Thursday after a long illness. Born in Bruno, Neb., May 12, 1880, he came to Cedar Rapids in 1915 and has resided here since. He was employed by the Killian Co., for 43 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic church, Cadets of St. George of the Catholic Workman, Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Sokols. Surviving are a son, Edward J. Stava, Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, and a brother, Dr. R. A. Stava, Sun City, Calif. Services: Monday at 9 a.m. in the Kuba funeral home east and Mass at 9:30 in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic church by the Rev. Dennis Colter. Burial: St. John’s. Rosary: Cadets of St. George, Catholic Sokols, parish and Knights of Columbus at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Kuba funeral
