Bio

Wayne (Cotton) Leroy Farley went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday morning July 8, 2019. Wayne was born in Norman, OK on Sept. 28, 1930 to Tony William and Willie Violet (Kimbrell) Farley. He was the sixth of seven children in his family. During his youth he moved from Oklahoma to Texas. After the passing of his mother, Willie Violet, Wayne went to work with a seismographing crew ending up in Westhope, ND where he then met his wife of sixty-six years, Frances Renee Hulse. During their marriage, Wayne and Frances had five children throughout their Oil Field travels. Wayne worked in the oil fields in Gillette, WY starting Farley’s Bit Service. He enjoyed delivering bits to the various rigs and visiting with the hands of the rigs. After his career in the oil field, Wayne and Frances started Hard Times Grocery. After the closing of the store he began his career with Pizza Hut. At this time, he began driving the Sunday School Bus for Northside Baptist Church, later known as Central Baptist Church. Wayne was always willing to extend salvation to all who would receive. He was also known for his willingness to lend his hand to those in need. He enjoyed fellowshipping with many people, especially while at McDonalds. He also enjoyed walking for exercise at the Rec. Center, as well as going for long rides in the car with his wife. Wayne is survived by his wife Frances, brothers, Raymond and Clarence both residing in Texas; five children: Vickie (Mark) Fjelseth of Hampton, NH; Sonja (Jeff) Trimarchi of Gillette, WY; Mike Farley Sr. of Gillette, WY; Tracey (Kevin) Herman of Gillette, WY; and Wayne Jr. (Heather) Farley of Sheridan, WY. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, 1 step-granddaughter, 13 great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, EJ, Edward, William, sister, Pearl Lorraine, and great-grand daughter, Liliana Grace Oberst. © Gillette Memorial Chapel July 10, 2019
