William “Bill” Michael Chappell age 73 of Omaha, NE formerly of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at the Douglas County Health Center in Omaha. Bill was born on April 7, 1946 to Henry Louis and Opal Irene (Byers) Chappell in Omaha. He was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bill had worked as a welder at Auburn Machine Works in Auburn, NE. Later Bill worked in Guide Rock, NE where he cared for and trained grey hound dogs. Then due to his failing health, he medically retired. He is survived by his sister: Joleen Faubel of Plattsmouth, NE; niece: Shantey Faubel and fiancé Josh Sills of Glenwood, IA; nephew: Tyler Faubel of Plattsmouth, NE; two great nieces: Emmie Jo and Harper Adkins; great nephew: Nathan Faubel; numerous cousins, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Opal Chappell, his aunt: Helen Farney, and his brother-in-law: David Faubel.
