Bio

Hilmer F. Schaefer, 80, of Rowena died Saturday afternoon, Aug. 30, 2008, in Meadow Creek Care Center, surrounded by his loving family. Hilmer was born May 26, 1928, in Olfen, Texas, to Henry and Cecilia (Halfmann) Schaefer. He proudly served with the U.S. Army during the end of World War II, and then served in the reserves. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War, being honorably discharged in 1952.
