Anna Mae Grimshaw Hickman (Annie) May 31, 1927 - June 16, 2019 (age 92) Anna Mae Grimshaw Hickman (Annie) was sunshine in the lives of everyone around her. To her last days, Annie Hickman was the most positive person you’d ever meet. Anna Mae Grimshaw was born to Clarence R and Anna Huey Griffiths Grimshaw on May 31, 1927, in Milford, Utah. Sadly, Mother Anna died 3 weeks after Annie’s birth. Happily, Edythe Osborn Grimshaw stepped in to become Annie’s stepmother. Annie, 92, died June 16, 2019, in St. George, Utah. On June 11, 1946, Annie married Hub (Hubert A Hickman) who was freshly home from serving in WWII. Theirs was a 58-year love story that served as an amazing example to their five children. Their legacy of love and respect lives on in the next generation and their grandchildren as well. Hub died in 2004 after they walked together through his journey with Alzheimers. Hub and Annie spent their early marriage in Springville and later moved to Magna where Annie was an Avon Lady extraordinaire. She was so open and outgoing that she soon became close friends with her customers. After starting their retirement in Beaver, Hub and Annie decided to move to St. George. It was a decision neither of them ever regretted. Barbershop singing was a big part of Hub and Annie’s life together. The music, the friendships, the travel, and the family fun filled their lives with a lot of joy. Oh, how Annie loved, loved, loved to laugh. She was the ultimate trooper who never wanted to miss any of the action. She would go anywhere, walk a million miles (yes, she was known to exaggerate a bit) just to be with the gang. She knew how to have fun! Even though Annie never had much in the way of money or things, she knew she was rich with what mattered most. People loved to be around her because she so generously shared that wealth. She was talented too – piano, sewing, painting, golf, and anything she tried. The world has lost a special gem. Annie will be greatly missed. Survived by her 5 children – Karolyn Plehal (Tom), Gayle Cason Sartuche (Raul), Wendy Salazar (Daniel), Wayne Hickman (Laury), and Joyce Madsen (Ron), 15 grandchildren, 24 great grands, and a brother Russell Grimshaw. Preceded in death by her husband Hubert (Hub) Hickman, son-in-law Bruce Cason, a great granddaughter Everly Ostler, and her siblings John Grimshaw, Douglas Farnow, and Norma Christiansen. The family is grateful for the great care Annie received from the staff at The Wentworth at The Meadows Assisted Living along with Dixie Hospice Care. The funeral services will be held at Spilsbury Mortuary, located at 110 S Bluff St, St. George, UT, July 3, 2019 at 10:00 AM with a viewing that morning between 8:30 and 9:30 AM.
