Bio

Jimmie W. Roberts, 71, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Roberts was born in Amarillo and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Amarillo College. He had worked for the post office and worked for Pantex, retiring as a safety engineer. Mr. Roberts was member of the Pioneer Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. He was a Baptist. He married Wilma Gourley in 1967 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by two sons, David Roberts and Kenny Roberts. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Roberts of Fritch and Bobby Folsom of Amarillo; a daughter, Diane Parish of Amarillo; second mother, Charlotte Roberts of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Maverick Boys Club; or BSA Hospice. Amarillo Daily News, Dec. 7, 2000
