James L. Berryman, 82, of Grand Island, died Friday, May 24, 2019, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island. A private family service will be held at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. A friendship memorial gathering will be held at a later date. James Berryman, dreamer, educator, trip-planner, traveler, storyteller, husband, father, stepfather, uncle, and friend, left his earthly home on Friday, May 24, 2019. Jim is survived by his wife, Marcia; a son, Jim D. (Saiful) of Connecticut; stepsons, Ron (Barb) Schummer and sons, Ryan and Alex of Indiana; and Randy Schummer of Florida; brothers-in-law, Harvey Johnson, and Phil (Barb) Brazelton of Arlington; nieces, Heather Weldon of York, Kendra (James) Washington, Kiffany (Dave) Conner of Kearney; and cousin, Emma (Ron) Walker of Waverly. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Shawn; his three siblings, Lee Ann Dulitz, EmRay Berryman, and Helen Johnson; brothers-in-law, Gene Dulitz and Bruce Brazelton; and a nephew-in-law, Chad Weldon.
