In Memory of Ruby Odom Ruby Odom, age 95, of Bastrop, Texas passed away on April 3, 2019. Born on March 10, 1924 in Cistern, Texas to parents Robert Carl Kelley and Grace Gosch. Ruby was a kind and thoughtful woman who devoted her life to her family. She took great pride in taking care of her family and friends and was quick to help anyone in need. In her younger years Ruby enjoyed teaching Sunday school at the Baptist church. She was a great partner to her husband John and spent many years helping him run his home building business. She leaves behind a legacy of five generations and will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her daughter Donna Cassel and husband Oscar Cassel, son Glenn Odom, grandchildren Lisa Tantaksinanukij and husband Wut, John Cassel and wife Jennifer, Dana Odom, Lori Hoskins and husband Shawn, her great-grandchildren Erica Mattar and husband Elias, Easton Hoskins, Hudson Hoskins, James Cassel and Jake Cassel. She also leaves behind two great-great-grandchildren Sebastian Mattar and Lachlan Mattar as well her brother Floyd Kelley and his wife Patricia, nephews Allan Kelley, Mark Kelley and niece Linda Apostalo. Ruby is preceded in death by her mother Grace Gosh Kelley, father Robert Carl Kelley, her first husband, Emil Zapalac, whom she lost in World War II and her husband of fifty-seven years, John Frank Odom. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop. A graveside Service will follow on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop.
