Bio
James Leo Pyle passed away Thursday, May 2nd, at Sunrise of Lenexa. He was 84 years old and lived in Overland Park, Kansas, and was a lifetime area resident. Jim was born May 7, 1934, in Kansas City, Kansas, the ninth of ten children born to Cecelia and Richard Pyle. He had worked for the BPU for 40 years before retiring in 1992 and during this time he served as the Chairman of the BPU Pension Board. He was a parishioner of Church of the Ascension. Jim was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Monica Rachel Pyle; a daughter-in-law, Joan Pyle, as well as three brothers and four sisters. He leaves the mother of his children, Margaret; five sons, Steve, Dan, Chuck, Ken and their wives, and Jeff; one daughter, Julie, and her husband; 17 grandchildren and two brothers, Jack and Tom. The family received friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church where the Memorial Mass was celebrated after the visitation. Inurnment was in Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa.
