1st Marriage to John Spivey Layson. He died at only 39 yrs old of a heart attack while she was expecting their daughter, Alma Viola Layson. Her immediate STERNBERG family is verified on the 1940 US Census living in Brenham, Washington County, Texas. Head of household was John Sternberg with his wife, Alma. Children in the household were: TWIN daughters: Evelyn & Erylene born TX 1926, TWIN daughters: Leatrice & Beatrice born TX 1927 and Daughter: Bonnie born TX 1929. News clipping expresses she was buried in Bellville, TX. Verification has been attempted several times through Claire Brothers Funeral Home, but no response has been received.
