Bio

ORD — Jerry Nevrivy, 77, of rural Valley County died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at his home southwest of Ord. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Ord Catholic Cemetery with military rites by the Ord V.F.W. and American Legion. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a 7:30 p.m. rosary at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Nevrivy was born Sept. 15, 1928, on the family farm southwest of Ord. Survivors of the immediate family include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mildred Lewandowski of Loup City, and Evelyn and Paul Sueper of Ord. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Roger Lewandowski of Ashton, Duane Lewandowski of Loup City, Karen Burnett of Broken Bow, Sharon Osentowski of Grand Island and Sandra Bruha of Burwell; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. Jerry was raised on the farm and attended the Sunny Slope Rural School District No. 69. He continued to work on the farm until entering the U.S. Army in 1950. He was stationed in Japan and discharged in 1953. Jerry returned to the farm and lived the rest of his life on the farm. He retired from active farming about seven years ago. Jerry enjoyed restoring Model T and Model A automobiles; overhauling tractors; attending farm sales and collecting antiques; listening to polka music and attending polka dances. Jerry was a member of the Ord V.F.W. He was a past board member of the ASCS. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Bob Bruha and Richard Lewandowski.
