Bio

LeRoy Otto Mertens was born in Ogema, Minnesota to Hugo and Alice Mertens on September 14, 1941. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force. LeRoy moved to the Tri-Cities area in 1968 and began working for the Burlington Railroad. In 1977 he purchased property and moved his family to Ringold, Washington (thank God) where he raised his family and enjoyed 17 years of retirement. His love was picking up his grand kids after school and buying them candy at the local store. The Family's hearts will forever be changed with the loss of our Dad, Grandpa, Pappy, and GG. The family will hold a private service per LeRoy's wishes.
