Bio
Robert Jon Sebek, 65, entered into heaven November 30, 2012 in Lincoln. He was born May 25, 1947 in Lincoln, to Victor and Adaline (Macholan) Sebek. Rob graduated from Wilber High School in May 1965. He attended Kearney State College where he was a member of the track team and the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He also attended Fairbury Junior college after his time at Kearney. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Clatonia on August 2, 1968. He was united in marriage to Karen Huneke on August 16, 1968 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clatonia. He and his wife Karen moved to Wilber in August of 1968. Rob and Karen lived in Wilber for 22 years and then moved to their current residence in 1990. In February of 1969 he enlisted in the Marine Reserves and attended basic training in California. He was honorably discharged in 1971. Rob had a 44 year career in sales with various companies in southeast Nebraska. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, listening to music, caring for his pets and other nature activities. Rob served two terms as treasurer for Zion Lutheran Church and volunteered yearly as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. He is survived by wife Karen of Wilber, sons Greg and wife Dawn of Hampton; Mike and wife Brenda of Lincoln; Russ and wife Jaymie of Lincoln, and Jeff and wife Angela of Overland Park, KS. Grandchildren: Trey, Trevin, Tayma, Tainsley, Tennasynn, Terrigen, Briahtia, Briley, Mitchell, Brynn, Makenna, Carter, Cole, and Stella, nieces, cousins and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Adaline Sebek; brother, Bruce Sebek and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alvin and Ann Huneke. Pallbearers were Joe Novak, Gary Rasmussen, Mike Henninger, Greg Kampsnider, Dirk Altman, and Ed Shimerda. Honorary pallbearers are Lyle Altman, Ed James, Terry Ferguson, Doug Emery and Lynn Dance. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clatonia. Pastor Steven Kahrs officiating and Sharon Krueger organist. Interment at church cemetery. Memorials to family with Kuncl funeral Home, Wilber, in charge of services.
