Richard E. Bennett was born in Lost Nation, Clinton county, Iowa, on June 30, 1863; moved with his parents to western Iowa in 1871, where he lived till 1882 he moved to Knox county, Nebraska, making that his home till 1908, when he moved to Sedgwick county, Colorado, where he lived till the time of his death on Aug. 30, 1917. Age 54 years and 2 months. He is survived by his wife, two sons, two sisters, Mrs. Whaley of Creighton, Neb, and Mr. F. B Mott of Ovid, Colorado, and two brothers Clarence Bennett of Creighton and Wilber G. Bennett of Sidney, Neb. The funeral was held in the home, on Sunday, Sept. 12, in the presence of a large number of friends, and the remains were laid to rest in the Holyoke cemetery. Wm. T. Russell, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiating. The family has the most tender sympathy of their great host of friends and relatives.
