Bio

Elias "E.K." was the son of Elias Stanley and Lurana Clarenda Smith. As a very young child, he migrated with his family to Travis County, Texas, from Tippah County, Mississippi. The family soon moved to Bastrop County, Texas, where E.K.'s father Elias, a blacksmith, was murdered in 1852. E.K. married Emmaline "Emma" Hattie Reynolds in 1865 in Burleson County, Texas. E.K. and Emma were the parents of eleven children.
