Clarion Ledger 6/22/1962 Meridian-Mrs. Mildred Ray,65 of Altamont, Ill. died Thursday after three weeks in St. Josephs hospital here of injuries suffered in a May 31 wreck that took the lives of her daughter-in-law and another woman. Killed in the wreck near Savoy were Mrs. Edith Mae Ray,28, of Petal,Miss, and Ms. Wanda Faye Fortner,19 of Purvis. The death of Mrs. Ray brings the Lauderdale county traffic fatality total this year to 14. She was riding with her son, William E.. Ray,32 and his family when a car driven by James Dobson,23 of Purvis apparently went out of control and rain-wet highway and swerved into their lane. Her body was sent Thursday from Webb funeral home to be buried .
