Bio

Ruth Vittek, age 87, of Austin, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009. She retired from the State after 30 years of service in the Medical Records department for the State Hospital. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Vittek. She is survived by her son Charles E. Vittek and his wife Sue, granddaughters; Jena and Shauna. Ruth is also survived by her nieces and nephews, as well as by many friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar BLVD, Austin, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Austin, TX. Interment will follow at Taylor City Cemetery in Taylor, TX.
