Bio

Donzil Eugene Burlison, 85, known as ''Burl'' at work, ''Donzil'' with family and ''Pop or Poppy'' by young family members joined His Savior on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Don was born at his family home in Osceola, Arkansas. He spent most of his vocational life in the trailer repair business. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Southaven, Mississippi, where he resided; he left this world with the anticipation of meeting His Savior Jesus Christ. Don was preceded in death by his parents: Bartlett ''Doc'' and Avie Burlison; brothers: A.J. Burlison, T.C. Burlison; sisters: Juanita Humble, Betty Ann Balch, and Shirley Warhurst; son: Ricky Lynn Burlison; and grandson: Daniel Shawn Burlison. He is survived by his wife: Hilda Mae Pearce Burlison of Southaven, Mississippi; two sons, Donny Wayne Burlison of Palco, Kansas and Joe Allen Hale of Southaven, Mississippi; one daughter: Judy Hale DeFrehn of Southaven, Mississippi; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will take place at the Broadway Baptist Church in Southaven, Mississippi Thursday, June 21, 2017 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm with service to follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will be private. Memorials may be sent to Broadway Baptist Church, 7400 Getwell Road, Southaven, Mississippi 38672 or North Delta Hospice, 520 Goodman Road, Southaven, Mississippi 38672.
