Lubbock- Billie Bloodworth passed peacefully into eternal life January 2, 2018. She was born April 18, 1929 in Cement, OK to the late Bill and Pearl Sewell, in the same home her late Father was born. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Bloodworth and her two sisters Inez Downing and Pat Hildebrand. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Marty Bloodworth and wife Suzanne of Midland, David Bloodworth and Julie Childs of Lubbock, and her seven grandchildren: Brent Bloodworth and wife Lea, Alaina Harris and husband Daniel, Lindsey Duncan and husband Tommy, Lara Johnson and husband Travis, Michael Bloodworth and wife Ashley, Josh Bloodworth and fiance Dani Wilson and Rachel Bloodworth. Billie also has nine great grandchildren and one more on the way. Billie lived out an amazing Christian life; she was firmly rooted in her Christian faith that served her so well throughout her life of service. Over the years Billie served her community working within the local PTA, with the sorority Delta Theta Chi, Meals on Wheels, Family Guidance and Outreach and for many years as a Pink Lady volunteer both at West Texas Hospital and Covenant Lakeside. Most recently she washed, pressed and sized clothes for foster children through Upbring, formerly Lutheran Social Services. Her entire life was in the service of others in and out of her home, as she acquired quite an extended family by simply opening her home to those in need. Visitation will be today at Chapel of Grace Funeral Home from 10 am to 8 pm with family receiving friends from 5 to 8 pm., Funeral services will be celebrated at Monterey Baptist Church Saturday January 6th, 2018 at 10 am with interment to follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery. "Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Mt 25:21) Our dearest Mother will be greatly missed, but we celebrate her heavenly arrival. The family suggests donations to Lubbock Meals on Wheels in lieu of flowers. Published in The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal from Jan. 5 to Jan. 6, 2018
