Obit-Gonzales Inquirer Mar. 16, 1933 Mrs. Sam Gibson passed away Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of her daughters. Mrs. Eli Rader. She was laid to rest in the Caraway cemetery Saturday afternoon . Obit-Gonzales Inquirer Apr. 20, 1933 Final Tribute To Mrs. S. Gibson Many sorrowing friends and relatives assembled on March 11 at the home of Mrs, E. O. Rader to pay a final earthly tribute to the memory of her mother, Mrs. S. Gibson, whose remains were laid to rest in the. Ara way Cemetery three miles from Leesville. Conducting the funeral services was Rev. Joe Neumann of Stockdale, pastor there. He was assisted by Re. Talley Williams of the Baptist church of. Icon. Both brought comforting messages from the scriptures and dwelt on the true and consistent Christian life she had led for 54 years. In her young life she was converted and untied with the Missionary Baptist church. Later in years she united with the Primitive Baptist church near Nixon, where she remained a member till her death. Mrs. S. A. Gibson (née Catherine Caraway) was born Sept. 6, 1859, wa married to S. A. Gibson, Jan. 12, 1879. There was born to this union eight chi, six of these survive her, namely, John Gibson, Nixon; Mrs. W. B. Moore Luling, Mrs. E. O. Rader, Leesville; Mack Gibson, Cuero; Carl Gibson, Nixon; Mrs. Rob Ross, Kenedy.All of whom were at her bedside at the time of her passing. There are 33 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Acting pallbearers were her grandsons, Mack and Alvin Moore, Melvin Rader, Raymond and Bud Gibson and Ernest Gimsel, a grandson by marriage. Her last resting place was made lovely with flowers tokens of love from friends and relatives.
