Bio

Vondee Chandler Blacklock, 91, of Temple, died Monday, March 11, 2019 in a Temple assisted living facility. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Thursday at the Oak Hill Pavilion in Cameron. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Mrs. Blacklock was born August 23, 1927 in Denton County to John Lewis and Mary (McMahon) Reynolds. She married E.D. Chandler on January 12, 1946 and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1974. She later married RJ Blacklock on January 3, 1981 and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2010. Mrs. Blacklock was an LVN and worked for several years in Cameron before retiring and moving to Temple where she and RJ were lifetime members of Central Texas Sportsman Club and volunteered many years at CTLC. She attended Heights Baptist Church in Temple and later attended Western Hills Church of Christ in Temple. She is survived by: Her Children Charles Chandler of Killeen Marilyn White of Temple Paul Chandler of Duncanville Vonda Mayfield of Red Oak Mary Margaret Denson of Crandall Helen Chandler of Dallas Step-children Ricky Blacklock Larry Blacklock Kathy Gage Becky Rogers Diane Pisk 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren Memorials may be made to the charity of Donors choice.
