Willie Mae Starrett, age 79 passed away Monday, February 18th, 2019, in her Mesquite home. Willie was born and raised in Commerce TX. Her parents were Aubrey Sr. and Ella Maurine Nicholson. She was the youngest daughter of six Children. Her youngest brother, Aubrey Jr. and wife Sylvia reside in Sherman TX. Ben and Willie were married August 24th, 1957. They were married for 61 and half years. They had four children; Vickie Triana (husband Eugene), Audrey Holland of McAlester, OK, Pam Garside (Husband Brad) of Allen, and Troy Starrett of Mesquite TX. They have 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. Willie worked for Western Electric (name changed a few times) and retired after 35 years. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She attended Fellowship Baptist Church of Mesquite. She volunteered in the community, helping neighbors and people in need. She loved coordinating and setting up a monthly luncheon with her co-workers. She loved the holiday season. She loved to see her family and her extended family. She attended her children's and grandchildren's sporting and school events and she loved to watch her son coach his 7v7 high school flag football team. During her retirement, Willie took flower arrangement classes. She loved meeting new people and getting to know them. She enjoyed going for rides and seeing the sites. Willie was a die-hard Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks and NASCAR fan. She would vehemently voice her opinion on how they were doing. The family has many wonderful memories. She loved each child, grandchild, great grandchild so very much. She was always thinking of them. She will forever be in our hearts.
