Swindell, 91, of Burleson passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at Burleson Church of Christ. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Burleson Church of Christ Library Fund, 1150 NW John Jones Drive, Burleson, TX 76028. Orville was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Slaton, Texas, to Joseph and Mary Ella Tapp Swindell. He was a World War II USMC veteran, having served in the South Pacific and China. Orville loved training horses and carpentry work. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Opal Atherton. Survivors: Wife, Ella Harwell Swindell; daughters, Sherry Dunson and husband, Tom, Melissa Willis and husband, Ian; grandchildren, Amy Jackson, Joseph Dunson, and Tiffany Beltran; great-grandchildren, Sarah Tamburrino, Jeff Jackson, Michaela Jenkins, Eric Beltran, Chelsea Dunson, and William Dunson; great-great-grandson, Ezio Jenkins; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
