Clay County News April 3, 2008 HASTINGS - Former Aurora, Colo. resident Beverly J (Highley) George, 69, of Hastings, died April 1 at Perkins Pavilion in Hastings, At her request, she was cremated and no services. Ms George was born April 2, 1938 in Beatrice to Maurice and Nelva (VanLaningham) Highley. She graduated from Hastings High School and furthered her education at Central Community College obtaining an Associates Degree in business. On Dec 27, 1958, she married Robert George, they later divorced. She was employed at Shepler's Western Wear in Denver, Colo. ad Kitchen Designs with Hugh M Woods. She enjoyed her grandchildren and had a love for the mountains and vintage cars. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; Greg and Linda George of Sutton, Bill and Debbie George of Sutton, daughter and son-in-law Bobi and Jim Urling of Aurora, Colo, daughter Liz George of Hastings; grandchildren Michael, Abby, Stephanie, Kevin, Taylor and Brody; brothers Lawrence Highley of Olympia, Wash; Richard Highley of Box Elder, SD nd sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Richard Rose of Ayr. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Vern, sister Virginia and an infant sister ElFrieda.
