Bio
Sigurd, Utah - Our kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Peggy Bonnie Jensen Newby, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Sigurd on February 27, 2019, with her family at her side. She was born May 8, 1950 in Richfield, a daughter of Floyd Joseph and Bonnie May Brown Jensen. She graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1969. She married Donald R. Newby in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1991. Peggy enjoyed fishing and camping. She loved to crochet and knit. She also sewed clothes for her kids when they were little. Peggy was a great cook and she taught her granddaughters how to cook, also. Peggy enjoyed spending quality time with her family and she will be greatly missed. Peggy is survived by her children: Tina Jensen of Richfield; Cindy and Mike Morrison, Justin and Rachel Newby, all of Sigurd; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Bonnie Jensen; her husband, Donald Newby; and a brother, Wayne Jensen. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sigurd Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Sigurd LDS Ward on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. prior to the graveside services. Burial will be in the Sigurd Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
