Janiece Olga Grimes, 81, of Thrall, Texas passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011. Janiece was born May 20, 1929 to Herbert and Olga (Zeplin) Schroeder. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Wuthrich Hill (now Prince of Peace). Janiece is survived by her son Douglas Kaatz; grandchildren Jonathan and Kyla Kaatz; twin sister Janet Brinkmeyer and husband Herman; sister-in-law Elizabeth Schroeder; one nephew and two nieces; several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom Janiece loved dearly. She was preceded to heaven by her parents, one brother and Dec. 8, 2009 her husband of 56 years, Leonard, the best step-dad that Douglas could have had. Pallbearers will be Troy Newman, Logan Brinkmeyer, Bob Borgne, Don Williams, John Luna, Edward Haverland, Bobby Schroeder and Henry Hosek. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Celebration of life services will be Saturday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Veit officiating. Burial will be at the Taylor City Cemetery.
