JoHelen Hajovsky Schobel, age 69, of Cat Spring, Texas, passed away on February 24, 2019 in Houston, Texas. She was born on October 19, 1949 to Steve Andrew Hajovsky and Avie Louise (Dunn) Hajovsky Kveton in Columbus, TX. She was married to her high school sweetheart Jerry Schobel on August 25, 1968 in Columbus, Texas. She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, St. Roch Catholic Church Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Saint Roch #2338 in Mentz. JoHelen lived her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and a remarkable cook and always enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. While raising her own children her kitchen was always open and occupied by the friends they would bring home. Many of these friends have grown to know and love her as a mother to them even to this very day. After being given the name "Me" by Luke her first grandchild she was lovingly called this by all of her family and friends. "Me" was known as a dedicated fan for every sport that ever included any of her children and grandchildren. Her and Jerry were usually cheering the loudest at every sports event, cheer session, or dance show. She also loved spending time with her close friends and was known as the "life of the party" for her Bunco group. "Me" truly loved with every inch of her soul. She was the most beautiful person inside and out. She will always be remembered for her generous heart, hilarious sense of humor, and beautiful smile. Anyone that has had the opportunity to know her has been blessed. To know her was to love her. She will be so dearly missed by so many. JoHelen is survived by her husband, Jerry Schobel of Cat Spring, TX; daughter, Holly Claire Madrigal and husband Mike of Katy, TX; son, Steven Scott Schobel and wife Marie of Cat Spring, TX; brother, David Andrew Hajovsky and wife Judy of La Grange, TX; 3 grandchildren, Luke Brady Schobel and wife Jayce Gayle, Lacie Marie Ratley and husband Tony, and Kaitlin Abigail Madigal; and 2 great grandchildren, Ava Marie Ratley and Wesley Scott Ratley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve Andrew Hajovsky and Avie Louise (Dunn) Hajovsky Kveton; and step-father, Rubin Kveton.
