Bio
Carolyn Mae Cuba Hickman, age 76, of Thorndale, Texas completed her journey on earth and returned to her heavenly home on February 25, 2019. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Taylor Brethren Church followed by a burial at Taylor City Cemetery. Carolyn was born on July 21, 1942 in Taylor, Texas to the late Arnold Cuba, Sr. and Amelia Kincl Cuba. On July 27, 1975 she married the love of her life, William H. “Bill” Hickman in Taylor, Texas. Together they raised two sons, Curtis and Douglas. After dedicating her life to her family and career, she retired from her position as President of Taylor Iron Machine Works in 2012. Her other two great loves in life were fishing and the Lord. She was an active member of Taylor Brethren Church. Her passion for singing in the Taylor Czech Chorus gave her great joy. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved to read. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Bill Hickman; sons Curtis and Wife Nikki, Douglas and wife Lindsay; 8 grandchildren, Analissa, Francesca, Layla, Maia, Mark, Haleigh, Jordan and Douglas Jr.; a sister Barbara Smith and husband Sammy; and a brother Arnold Cuba Jr. and wife Rebecca. In lieu of flowers, she has requested that donation be made in her honor to the Taylor Brethren Church.
